An estimated ~8 million children aged less than 19 years live with special needs in India with limited or close to no opportunities for participation in fitness and sports for recreation or competition.
Sportability launches quality programs providing holistic development curated for the needs of children with special needs. A voice for the differently abled and a platform for inclusive engagement with empathy and commitment.
A Modern School Initiative
With a legacy of 100 years, Modern School has been a flagbearer of value based education for generations of students of Delhi. We have always prioritised inclusion as one of the building blocks of empathy. SUPW projects, Interact Club programs & interactions with Blind Schools, disabled homes and old age homes are integral to our curriculum.
We are now expanding our reach with the launch of Sportability, our inclusive sports academy, for children of all abilities and aptitudes.
Our mission is to • Leverage a child’s natural love for playing to break social, psychological, physical and physiological barriers faced by children with disabilities. • Empower children with life-skills to play and prosper and become torchbearers for others to adopt an ‘Inclusive Sports Culture’. • Provide a platform and space for Delhi’s students of all abilities to have fun, learn and develop through sports activities. • Offer a curated interaction between children who have special needs and children with neurotypical development.

Through their specially curated adapted sports and physical education programs for children with diverse abilities, Umoya Sports has reached out to more than 1000 children directly and more than 15000 children pan-India indirectly.
Umoya Sports champions building inclusion in society through sports and has partnered with prominent sports organizations such as FIFA U17 World Cup, Delhi Dynamos in the past to host multiple inclusive sports festivals.
